The Transportation Consortium of South-Central States (Tran-SET) is Region 6’s University Transportation Center. It is a collaborative partnership between nine major institutions and two community colleges (see below) across five states (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas). This partnership brings together the unique strengths and characteristics of each institution to establish a Center with the necessary capabilities, facilities, and staff to tackle regional transportation challenges. Tran-SET was established in late-November 2016 to “address the accelerated deterioration of transportation infrastructure through the development, evaluation, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, novel materials, and innovative construction management processes”.
